ABOUT KATE
Kate McManus is a New York City-based actor, born and raised beneath the shadows of the Coloradan Rocky Mountains. She recently performed as Sister James in Doubt, a Parable (ASDS Repertory Theatre) and Ariel in The Tempest (New Place Players) . She trained at the Actors Studio Drama School, where she received her MFA in Acting. She is a working finalist at the Actors Studio, and is a company member of the New Place Players.
In addition to her off-Broadway credits, Kate has performed regionally as Kathy in 9 to 5: the Musical at the Candlelight Dinner Playhouse. Some favorite ASDS credits include Tiger Tail by Tennessee Williams (Baby Doll, under the tutelage of the original Baby Doll, Elizabeth Kemp), Silence by Harold Pinter (Ellen) and Riff Raff by Laurence Fishburne (Billy "Torch" Murphy).
Kate played the parts of Bowb Brown and Sgt. Ferkel in Bill the Galactic Hero (2014), directed by Repo Man's Alex Cox. Other, recent film credits include leads in One Take More (Hanging Lantern Productions), Free Wine (NYU thesis), Acceptance (SVA) and Crossing Routes (SVA).
Kate holds dual citizenship with the Republic of Ireland and spent two summers living and working in London. When not on set or stage, Kate's either writing, singing loudly in public, watching the History Channel for fun, pretending she can still play lacrosse, working her way towards petting every puppy in Brooklyn or indulging her deadly case of wanderlust, as catalogued in her travel blog all other planets. Kate aspires every day to be a bit more like Captain America and Captain Kirk.
